Happy Tuxie Tuesday - the Captain here. I've been watching it rain lots and lots over the last two days. Mommy says that it's rain from Tropical Storm Fay. I say that my beautiful tuxie lady knew how badly my state needed the rain (Georgia is experiencing a historical record drought) so she sent it to me as a gift. Can you imagine? The rain that I am watching right now is the exact same rain that fell on the lovely Lady Boo. Amazing, even to this seasoned pirate captain, just how small the world really is.

Worried Tuxie Tuesday
Captain Jack is one worried Tuxie today. His Lady Boo is in harm's way of a great big rotating thunderboomie. He is checking the weather every 10 minutes and hopes that Boo and her family (as well as ALL of our FL friends) are okay.
Captain Jack: My lady Boo, you and your family can come and stay with us until the big stormie passes. I could not bear it if anything were to happen to you!! If all of you come here, I can protect you from the storm. In fact, I think Boo and her family and all of our Florida friends such come and get on the Black Furrball. We can sail to calmer waters and wait out the storm in high piratey style!!!

Tuxie and Tabby Tuesday
Here is the first picture she took. As you can see, we were both so surprised by her screaming and excitement that we turned on our laser eyebeams before we realized there was nothing to shoot with them.
Yes yes, we are sleeping Mom. We actually sleep here a lot. The computer is warm so Fagin lays on top of it behind the monitor and the fan from the computer puts out a lot of warm air so Captian Jack lays on the back of the couch in front of the CPU fan. She said we looked "so cute." We thought we just looked asleep.
Why do the humans wake you up when you are right in the middle of a squirrel hunting dream? Do you think that my big yawn was enough of a hint for Mom to leave us alone?
No, she kept taking pictures. I advised Fagin to just ignore her and try to go back to sleep, because eventually she would get bored and go away. We are not sure how long it took her to go away because we fell asleep again. All we know is she was gone when we got hungry and woke up several hours later.Tuesday, May 6, 2008
Tuxie Tabby Tuesday
As you can see, I was enjoying some nip on the Boogie Mats. I never even noticed that I had an audience...
I was boogie-ing so much on my Boogie Matt that I never saw that Dante was not on his mat, but that Fagin was there.
Mommy called out my name and after I gave her this ummm, somewhat embarassing look, (well, it was embarassing! Just look at my eyes and I am sticking my tongue out at her too!) It was then that I saw that the little kitten was getting even closer to me.
So I did what Sammy Meezer has been teaching us all to do and I gave the little brat a whap and said "Get off of MY Boogie Matts you annoying little weasel!"
But guess what! It was too late. Fagin had gotten into my nip and look what happened! It's the kitten's first nip out! Yep, he got nipped and he got nipped good! We played for a while and he kept saying "Woah Dude! Nip is AWESOME" I laughed at him when I took a break to get a snack from the food bowl because I think I had the munchies. When I came back though - oh kitties, you will not believe what I saw...
Yep, he had both Boogie Matts and would not give them back. I think the kitten may have a problem....Anyone know how to do a nip intervention?

Tuxie Tuesday
2. Sometimes ships sink due to bad weather before we kitties can pirate them. On July 22, 1985 an American treasure hunter discovered just such a sunken ship off the coast of Key West, FL. What was the name of the sunken ship? Senora de Atocha (Our Lady of Atocha)
3. Did you kitties know that most pirates were male? However, there are two very well known female pirates that became best friends when they dressed as male pirates and sailed under the flag of Captain Jack Rackham, who was also known as Calico Jack. Who were these two female pirates? Mary Reed and Anne Bonnie
4. Did you kitties know that in the 17th century, Britain actually licensed pirates to attack Spanish, and later French, ships? Henry Morgan was made famous by becoming the leader of this band of British employees. However, the term “pirate” was not applied to this group – they were called something else to set them apart from good, honest and law-breaking pirates like us kitties on the Black Furball. What was the British government employees who performed acts of piracy but were not actual pirates called? Privateers or Buccaneers
5. Why is the rum always gone? We can tell you why – because our Mommy and Daddy drank it all on a trip they took this past fall! They had yummy drinks called Hurricanes which are rum drunks that were invented by an infamous American bar during World War II. Can you name the city and the bar where Mommy and Daddy drank all of the rum? (PS- Mommy says you get extra points if you bring her one!) Pat O'Briens in New Orleans (Spirit and Ezra actually new the historic name for the bar, when it was just a speak easy - Mr. O'Brien's Club Tipperary - Mommy was way impressed).
6. Contrary to what Mommy would like, not all hurricanes are yummy rum filled drinks. Some hurricanes are very serious and have been the death of many a pirate caught in their gales. In the Western Hemisphere, a special scale is used to warn pirate kitties of the intensity of approaching hurricanes. What is the special scale called? Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale
7. Did you know that the oldest city in America has a rich pirate history too? This city was settled by the Spanish in March 1513 by Don Juan Ponce de Leon. In 1586, the English corsair Sir Francis Drake attacked and burned the town. Then in 1668, the pirate Captain John Davis plundered the town, killing sixty inhabitants. Spain authorized the building of a stone fort to protect the city and its inhabitants. The Castillo de San Marcos took twenty-three years to build but, once in place, stood as the town's stalwart defender. To this day, the fort has never fallen to enemy attack. What is the name of this city? St. Augustine, FL
8. Who is the most fearsome pirate cat Captain to ever live? Even though Dante may disagree, it is me - Captain Jack Kitten!
Isn't it wonderful! Mommy likes it because she says it has two of her most favorite men in it - me and Johnny Depp (Mommy! Stop drooling!) Anyway, I wanted to say thanks again to Diamond. I just love this!!Thanks again for coming to my Birthday Cruise. It was the best 4th birthday, or any birthday for that matter, ever!!

Tuxie Puppy Tuesday

3. I would eat all of the nummy human food that my Daddy cooks (yes, Daddy cooked the food in the pic below for dinner one night) and not have to share with anyone. I would eat off of my own plate and everything! Oh and guess what kitties - do you know what one of my favorite foods is? FISH! See? I told you I am a cat trapped in a woofie body!!
Finally, I have to show you what Momo gave to my kitty brothers! I think its a wonderful award and I am very proud to be the brother of two such fine kitties!

Tuxie Twos-day
In this picture, taken just last night, Sam was doing two things he loves to do: laying on the big bed with Mommy and watching the Westminster dog show. Mommy said that if she could have entered Samwise he would win, but they won't let him enter because he is not a pure bred (snobs!). Samwise says that they won't let him enter because they know he would cream the competition!
Now we think most kitties can identify with this favorite activity of Jack's - Nipping Out! Mommy says that we have to tell you the truth- Jack did not get all of this nip. Mommy had the container out to put some nip in the boogie mat and Jack tried to claim the container. We think Jack could turn into a Nipaholic if we are not careful so he only gets smaller amounts.
Now this is one of our very favorite activities - hunting through the window together! Sometimes its nice having brothers, even when they are from different species!!

Tuxie Toes on Tuesday
If you said, "Oh Jack likes the Nip!" you would be right! This is me on Dante's Boogie Mat (it's orange to match his ginger furrs - mine is actually blue) loving the Nip!! Mom says to tell you that the spots you see on the carpet are not dirt, but are actually even more nip because I go a bit crazy when she puts nip on top of the Boogie for me to roll around on and eat as well! Oh nip is so wonderful!!This second picture was taken right after I jumped onto the big bed and fell into a Nip induced coma.
Yes these are my tuxie toes. As you can see, even my paw pads are tuxie with some being black and some being pink (pink is the paw pad version of white Mom says). However, one of my back foots has all black paw pads.
Happy Tuxie Tuesday everyone and love to my favorite Tuxie of them all - my beautiful Lady Boo!!

Tuxie Tuesday
Last night we got our Secret Paws all packed up and ready to go. Daddy is going to ship them out today from work. We are so excited! We hope the kitty and puppy who are getting them like what we (and the doggies) picked out!

It's getting closer and closer to Christmas and Santa Paws. I thought I heard him last night so I ran to my window perch in the den so I could look out the window and see him, but sadly it was just the delivery guy -oh wait, not so sad. He had teriyaki chicken that Mommy always shares with me! Happy Tuxie Tuesday everyone!

Tuxie Tattle Tuesday
Mommy: Mommy is not very domestic - she does not cook ever (Daddy does and loves it - he dreams of being a chef) and she hates to clean so much that she hires someone to do it (which we like because we adore our cleaning lady. We call her Miss Betty and she loves us too! She even taught us Spanish so we are bilingual but we will not teach Mommy and Daddy - they have to learn on their own!).Tuesday, November 27, 2007
Pirate Tuxie Tuesday
My straws (and apparently a medicine syringe too from the last time one of us was on antibiotics)!! They were discovered! Dante had been on the desk batting Dad's cell phone around and it fell between the couch and the desk. I thought I was safe when a few days went by and no human really looked for it - until last night! Mommy called the phone, it rang, and yes, it was under the couch - where the treasure was hidden!
Look, I had not even told Dante where our straw bounty was hidden and here he is looking it over!!
