Look what the Captain's Lady Boo and her family gave us! Isn't it wonderful!

1. Since Samwise has been not feeling well, we've been guarding him against Beaux. This means that we get to lay on the back of the couch while Sam spreads out on the cushions and Beaux gets the hardwood floor to lay on! hahahahaha!

2. Lately we've been insisting that we get to sleep on the big bed with the beans at night. Jack curls up around Mommy's ankles and Dante curls up around Mommy's shoulder. We let Samwise (since he is hurt) sleep next to Daddy but we get Mommy! A kitty has to stay warm and snuggling in January after all.

3. Our beans finally bought us new blinds for the big picture window in the living room. We had horizontal blinds before and we had to poke our heads through and hold down the blinds below us and such to look out before but now they bought vertical blinds for us because it makes it easier for us to look outside. We are very spoiled kitties.

Thanks again to everyone who sent their purrs and good wishes to Samwise. He is feeling much better and his owwie looks a lot better too!! We will take care of him and protect him from Beaux until he is completely healed!

Update on Samwise

We have an update on Samwise. Last night when Mommy got home she felt a lump on the very top of his head and realized that some of his head furrs were matted with what appeared to be dried blood. Further inspection showed a head injury so Mommy and Daddy called Aunt Susan. Aunt Susan had the beans give a sedative to Sammy with some drugs they had leftover from when Beau was hurt and needed sedation. After he was sleepy, they were able to clean his head and cut the furrs really short so they could see what was going on. Sammy has a boo-boo, a puncture like wound on the top of his head that is just the right size to have been made by one of Beaux's teeth. Yep, when the doggies got into their fight, Beaux bit Samwise very hard on the head and hurt him.

The bad news is that the gash is infected and is oozing nasty stuff so Mommy will have to keep is wound clean. Aunt Susan called in some antibiotiks as well as pain medication for Sam so that should help lots. The good news is that Sammy is not acting hurt and the shivering and shaking has stopped so he is not in as much pain as before. He is still wanting to play and seems to be in good sprits. Thank you for your purrs and purryers - all of us really appreciate it. We are sorry that we are not getting around to all of our friends lately but Mommy has lots going on on top of the doggie illnesses. Please do not forget us pirates!!

Tired And Worried Tuesday

We were all up pretty late last night because Samwise was not feeling well at all. About midnight he jumped up on the bed and woke Mommy and Daddy up because he was shivering and couldn't seem to stop. Everytime he breathed out, he shivered. They got so worried that they called Aunt Susan at 12:11am and woke her up (after she worked a 14 hour shift) to try to determine if they should take him somewhere right then. He and Beaux has got into a tift a few hours earlier and Aunt Susan thinks maybe Sammy got hurt. Apparently when woofies get hurt they often get really scared too and will shake like that. Aunt Susan had Mommy gave him an aspirin and some other pain meds she had from when the Captain was ill (that is how big Jack is - he and Sammy take the same dosages of meds) and he stopped shaking and went to sleep. He seemed better this morning but Mommy is worried sick. Daddy is going to go and check on him at lunch to make sure he is okay.

Please keep Samwise in your thoughts. Mommy is so worried she is sick to her tummy and we know she is really really tired too!

One last puppy update - the boys seem to be feeling so much better and they were able to keep down their normal food last night. Thank you for purring for them and sending them your purryers too!

Woofie Update

First of all, we want to thank everyone who sent healing purrs and purrayers to our Woofies, Samwise and Beaux, this weekend. Thankfully they seem to be feeling a lot better. No more vomitting or pooping in the house (they were both quite embrassed about that). They are still on the sick woofie food (Aunt Susan called and came by to check on them yesterday and says to keep them on the bland food until tonight and then try their normal food again) and they both have a bit less energy than usual but we think they are certaintly on the mend! Again, thanks everyone! Your kind purrs and thoughts meant a lot. Samwise couldn't believe that so many kitties cared about him and Beaux was excited to see all off your responses too! Thank you all, our dear friends!!

Our Woofies are Sick!!

Oh no! Not one but BOTH if our woofies are sick. Both Samwise and Beaux! It's just awful!

When Mommy came home last night she found that someone had vomitted and pooped all over the house. It was bad enough that Daddy had to go out and rent a carpet cleaner just to clean up all the messes. The horrid thing is that we all think that itss not just one sick doggie but that both of them are sick! Both are acting very off and instead of running and jumping around like they usually do, they are just laying about. Aunt Susan came over and checked on them last night and said it is probably something they ate (probably in the backyard since Mom cannot find anything they could have gotten into yesterday as they are restricted to only certain areas of the house when the beans are not home) but right now she does not think they need medication or fluids. She says sometimes these things really just need to work themselves out. She gave them some bland sick woofie dog food - I/D Canine - and will come back later today to check again if they are not much better.

We know some of you kitties do not like woofies - even Dante talks bad about Beaux lots - but if you could send them some good and healing purrs we would be very thankful.

Caught in the Act! And a meme

Capt Jack and Dante's Mommy here! You kitties will not believe what I caught the boys doing last night! You see, I had given the woofies a treat, but they decided they would rather go outside so they dropped their treats and left. Shortly thereafter I saw this:Okay, I thought. Dog treats could make a great toy to bat around. As you can see, at this point the Captain and Dante were approaching the dog treat as if were an alien invader so imagine my surprise when I saw this!

Yes, that is Jack eating the main cookie and Dante was eating a small piece of it! Soon after this Jack picked up the treat and ran away with it! Yes folks, both kitties partaked of a woofie treat!!!

Okay Mommy, hush! We were just making sure it was not nasty enough to kill Samwise. It's not like we actually enjoyed it!!!

3. I would hold one rip roaring awesome party aboard the Black Furrball for all the kitties on the blogosphere to attend. No human supervision either. Just us kitties with all the food and all the fun we could stand!!
