Thursday Thank You and Annoucement

Kitties, our pirate cat attack - it worked!! Mommy was able to do something she has not done is a very long time - she came home early! She was home, the dogs were let outside, and she was giving us nummies but the time on the clock!! Woohoo! She is not usually home until like three hours after that time so we were thrilled!!

To all the kitties that joined our crew and helped attacked Mommy's Day Hunting People, we thank you. We were honoured that so many of our friends answered our call and joined the crew of the Black Furball: PB&J (You were fearsome Black Pearl), The Meezers (even though Fagin and Billy running around everywhere screaming PLAY kinda screwed up the sneak attack), Dragonheart and Merlin, Pirate LadyLove -Miss Boo, Chey and Gemini, China Cat and Willow, Daisy (you looked smashing in your pirate outfit), Kellie, Sweet Empress Stripy Legs, All of the Furry Kids, Hendrix (and Bendrix of course), TT (the yack attack was awesome!), Mickey, and the Taylor Cats too! Consider ourselves official crew members of The Black Furrball! Please accept our gift of the crew badge above for your blog so that everyone knows you are members of the most fearsome pirate cat crew in the universe!!

And now, a special annoucement. Here's a hint!!
Yep, the fearsome first mate, Sir Dante Barbossa, turns 3 years old next week on June 21st. To celebrate, we are going to have a party for Dante on our blog next Friday, June 20th. Everyone is invited and we do hope you will come!

Okay, last thing, we promised to let our woofie brother Beaux ask a very special pup a very special question. Here he is:
George - I do not mean to be forward or anything, but I was wondering, would you like to come to Dante's party with me? Dante said we woofie's can come and I think it would be fun if we could come together. I promise to be a gentleman woofie and we'll have plenty of chaperones. Would you like to come with me? - Beaux

Pirate Kitties Unite

That's it! We've had it!! Mommy was supposed to get some pictures edited for us so we could blog while she day hunted but did she do it? NO! Why you may ask? Because she is so tired from day hunting that she did not feel up to it. We've had it! Pirate kitties unite! We're putting our plan into action!! After we've freed our Mommy from the evil Day Hunting People we will go and free everyone else's Mommys and Daddys too!! Who's with us?!?! ME-ARG!!!!!
When we're done, we'll pull out the pirate cat rum and the primo nip we "borrowed" off that special nip boat we boarded last week and have a party on the Black Furrball! Pirate Kitties, let's go!!!

Pirate Lesson

Hello kitties! Captain Jack here. It's time for our next piracy lesson - this one will help you to develop your hiding skills. Hiding skills are very important to any pirate cat as they can mean the difference between getting away with the crime and getting caught red pawed! For me, it also means the ability to avoid annoying, hyper demon kittens who never want to leave you alone!! So here we go!
Your assignment is to find YOUR special hiding place. Some kitties do not realize the vital importance of having that one hiding spot that no one knows about other than you (and maybe your Mommy). Trust me kitties, its well worth the work to find this special place. Take this room for instance. This is actually our smallest guest room that Daddy converted into Mommy's closet (we have a small house with limited closet space and Daddy soon realized that he would not have anywhere to store his clothes unless he did something so he made Mommy her own walk in closet). Do you see a kitty anywhere in here? No, I bet you don't. Why is that?

Because I am just that good at hiding! What can I say, they do not call me "The Captain" for just any reason! Yep, this is one of my very special hiding spots. I go in here when I need to relax and be left alone. And I can cuddle with Mommy's sweaters and clothes and old stuffed animals and be all warm and comfy. No kittens allowed!

"But Captain!" you might say. "You just gave away your special hiding spot! Now Fagin will be able to find you." Never fear kitties. When I tell Fagin I am going to the closet, he has no idea I mean my special hiding spot in Mommy's closet room because I taught him that my special room is called "the guest room." He thinks Mommy's closet is actually the master bedroom closet. Hahaha! Take that as a lesson in deception kitties. Sometimes, you must plan your hiding places well in advance -say when they first move the little kitten menance into the house!
Yep, there's definitely a reason I am the Captain. I hope you enjoyed your lesson....Now, I am going back to sleep to dream of my Pirate Lady Love.......

Finally Friday!!

Mommy used to have a shirt that had this design on it. She says that lately this picture completely describes how she feels. Unfortunately because of her looking like that picture we have not been around as much lately or visiting our friends like we want to. First we want to say we are sorry and second we want to tell you it's because the bad people where Mommy day hunts are making her really stressed out. She is trying to help get people set up for the upcoming new fiscal year (she says that that year starts in July but we thought New Year Day was in January. Why does humans have different years going on in the same 365 days? So confusing!) and its not that easy.

We've decided that if Mommy does not get a break soon we are going to her day hunting place and taking it over by pirate kitty force!! We found this picture online and are making Fagin practice this look because we think he can pull it off as the scary pirate tabby kitten. While he's distracting the bad humans that are making Mommy stressed with this frightening look, we big pirates will slide in and take over, planting the flag of the Black Furrball to show our domination. What do you kitties think? Do you think it will work?

We hope to get around to all of our friends soon and we hope all of you kitties, buns, woofies and beans have a great weekend!

Tired Tabby Tuesday

When you are a pirate cat in training, sometimes lessons come at you from out of nowhere and when you least expect them. Take this weekend for instance. Dante told me to practice using my laser eyebeams and I was practicing and doing a good job too!!

See? Don't I look like a scary, fiercesome pirate? I was feeling very confident in myself; so much so that maybe I got a little too confident and I did not notice what was directly above me. Do you see what I mean? The Captain was above me and ready to attack! ACK!
I am proud to say that I did fight back when the Captain attacked me from above with his major whapping skillz. I think he had it easier because he took the high ground but Captain says I have to be prepared to fight my way to the top. As you can see I am getting lots of practice! One day maybe I will be as impressive a pirate as my Captain is. But wow- all that whapping is tiring!
I had to nap! I had no choice so I retreated to Mommy and Daddy's big bed and took a nice long nap. Whew! Pirate lessons are not for the faint at heart! Oh and you can see my toesies and my tummy and my tail in this picture and its Tuesday too so I think this picture is very fitting. When I wake up, I think I will go over to my best friend Bill's house and show him some of my new pirate skillz!!

Mancat Monday

On Saturday, I was lying in my special spot on the back of the couch (this is the couch from our new living room furniture that Mommy and Daddy bought just a few months ago) enjoying the sun and considering taking a nap when Mommy came in with some green stuff in her hands. What could it be? She handed some to Fagin....

Fagin was lying on our love seat and seemed very interested in whatever Mommy handed him. "Hmmmmm," I thought. "It's green and leafy and came in with Mommy from the backyard and she said she was going out to our garden. What could it be? Could it be...."
OUR NIP!! It was leaves from our very own catnip plants that Mommy and Daddy planted in the garden in our backyard - remember this picture? NIP NIP NIP!!! And Mommy said the plants are doing very well and we now have tons of our very own fresh nip!!

I had to have some! Mommy had put some on a paper towel on the table and well, I AM a pirate so I stole it for myself. Oh it is so good!! Very good stuff!!

Mommy took this picture right when I began to nip out. The nip was so good that I didn't even notice her taking this picture. Oh fresh nip is awesome! For this Mancat Monday I say that real mancats love the nip!!
PS: If you are wondering why there are no pictures of Dante having the fresh nip, it is because he was sleeping at the time. Don't worry though - Mommy gave him some later and he loves it too!!
