Widening Family Wednesday

Last night, Mommy and Daddy came home from day hunting and almost immediately left us again. They went to Aunt Susan and Uncle Dave's for dinner as they had just returned from a weekend in New Orleans and had brought back crawfish and Po Boys to share with Mommy and Daddy. Anyway, when Mommy and Daddy came home Mommy told us something that kinda makes us nervous. She said:

"Aunt Susan says he'll be ready to come home on Friday."

Can you guys guess who this "he" is? Come on, its not that hard. Here's a hint!

Yep, LK will be coming home to our house for a trial run. Aunt Susan and Uncle Dave will be bringing him over Friday night and we are going to see how things go over the weekend. Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Susan, Uncle Dave and our friend Andre have discussed some names for him too. Here is what has been thrown around so far, in absolutely no order:

1. Wedge Antilles (from Star Wars)
2. Harry (from Harry Potter)
3. Kahn (from Star Trek)
4. Oliver (from Oliver Twist)
5. Dodger (The Artful Dodger from Oliver Twist)
6. Merlyn (cause he has big eyes like an owl - but Mommy has a kitty named Merlyn who lives with Nana and Grandpa so we do not think we can name him this)

So far no pirate names have been mentioned because they cannot find any they like. No one is really sure about the names they have discussed either. So we were wondering...what do you kitties think we should name him? Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome!

Good luck with LK! We hope the trial run turns out well. We like the name Dodger. We can't think of any pirate names off the top of our heads, but we'll see if we can come up with anything.

Your daddy won't go for Will Turner, more is the pity. Because my mommy thinks that name would be purrfect. *sigh* We'll get to work on making sure there are absolutely no good pirate names left.

You've been tagged to make a wish!

Yahoo!! LK gets a forever home!!! We think LK is OK, it's not as though cats usually come when they're called, unless there's food involved. ;-)

Dodger seems to suit him. I think that that sort of suggests a piratishness, don't you?

We like LK, but Dodger is pretty good, too. It sounds kinda piratey.

Well, I still thing "George" after Big Daddy George Foreman would be good, because he was such a little fighter.

Or...well...what about "Bootstrap"?

He doesn't have tenticles all over his face, so I supposed Davey Jones is out.

This is very exciting news! I hope things go well with little LK. You could name him "Sparrow" after Jack Sparrow the pirate, and because LK is tiny like a little sparrow.

"LK" sounds like a pretty good name.

Or perhaps something "Survivor"-ish might be appropriate.

We think he looks like an Oliver.

It is so great that he will be your little brother and you can teach him everything about being a Pirate!

Oh wows a new kitty brother! We thinks William Kitty (like William Kidd) woulds be neat.

well obviously, I feel you should name him Yao-Lin as a tribute to yours truly. However, I like the pirate themed names so how about:

Tabby beard

Captain Barbossa

Calico jack

Diablo

Morgan Spice

Jim Beam

um...ok, I am digressing into alcoholic territory now!

But you get my drift! x

We are soooooo excited for you guys, and hope the weekend goes well. We like Dodger too! You could call him the Jolly Dodger (sorry, Mommy just can't help the bad pun)! Of course he could just be "Dodger, the Cabin boy", but he might not like that when he grows up to be a big ManCat.

Dearest Dante,
It's a crystal clear day here, would you like to teleport up here and we can stroll in the sunshine?

oh my gosh! wow! this is good news. i'm glad you guys get to have a trial run with no pressure.

You could name him "little King" after John King the youngest pirate who died on the Whydah serving under Sam Bellimy. Then his initials would stay the same. http://www.unmuseum.org/piratelittle.htm

of course, if you name him, Kahn, when he gets up on something he shouldn't or scratches the sofa you could yell "Kaaaaaaaahn" and shake your fist.

Oh we like Oliver!

Oliver is a very good name, dat is da name of da mancat next door. Well, actually his name is Ah Lover but dat looks silly written out. Dodger would be really good, Jolly Dodger, cabin boy!

How about Sir Frances Drake for a pirate name, he was not only a pirate but he helped save the British from the Spanish Armada and the Inquisition.

Just Ducky said...

Whatever you pick in terms of names he will always be LK. I hope every thing works out for all of you.

How about Bligh for Captain Bligh of Mutany on the Bounty?

Long John Tabby! And you can call him LJ for short!

Doesn't matter what the humans name him, 'cuz you can always call LK "Gilligan." You're the Captain, and he's just a first mate. (And don't let him forget it.)

He's a cute little guy, getting bigger and stronger every day. So glad someone was there to help him!
