Mommy Update

We have a Mommy update for everyone. She went back to her V-E-T today and the V-E-T was encouraged by her progress. She is still coughing lots and lots but it's getting better and the wheezing is too. The V-E-T said that pneumonitis takes a while for anyone to recover from but Mommy is going to take longer because of complications arising from being asthmatic. Mommy is experiencing one of those complications - she has some sort of infection in her lungs. The V-E-T put her on Auntie Botiks to keep the infection from becoming pneumonia. The V-E-T wants her to continue to take it easy and get plenty of rest. Mommy has to go back to see the V-E-T if she is not lots better in 10 days so she can see a special V-E-T called a Pulmonologist.

We want to once again thank everyone for their purrs and their purrayers. We really think that they are helping Mommy to get better. Thank you everyone!

Mini ManCat Monday

Heya kitties. We made a special picture for you guys because we know that it was your purrs and purrayers that helped LK to live and to find his furrever home. Please feel free to steal this picture to add to the wonderful picture Kashim and Othello made for him when he was so little and his life so uncertain. Aunt Susan thinks the little guy has a long life ahead of him, and to celebrate his coming home, he finally has a real name!!!

Yes, LK finally told us what he would like to be called and he choose the name Fagin. Fagin is a character in the novel Oliver Twist (by Charles Dickens) and he is the leader of the orphans - the one who teaches the orphans how to steal and be criminals. The orphans would bring him their gleanings and he gave the orphans a place to live. Yes, we did consider the names Oliver and Dodger from the same novel, but we decided that the kitten would eventually become a cat so he would need an adult name. Plus he is grey just as the character Fagin is. Mommy and Aunt Susan say he is the Fagin from the musical Oliver! who is younger and more handsome than the Fagin in the novel (they went to see the musical together a couple of years ago and Fagin was one of Mommy's favorite characters). Anyway, we thought someone to teach the new kids how to be criminals would be very helpful on the Black Furrball. So Fagin is LK's new name! What do you kitties think?

Fagin is fitting in well. Dante and he are still friends and Jack is getting close enough to whap the little guy from time to time. He is eating like a little pig and has more energy than 5 kittens put together should have. Since he is a hand raised kitten, he has the tendancy to put the bitey on you when he wants to snuggle and Mommy and Daddy are doing their best to break him of this. Unforunately, Mommy and Daddy have been sick all weekend with a nasty virus and they both even stayed home from work with us today. That's why we do not have many pictures. Anyway, there's the update. Happy Monday everyone!!

Mancat Monday

Sometimes, when the Mommy bean is sick, a mancat must play with girly items (such as chapstick and a ponytail holder and silly socks) in order to entertain her while she recovers.

That mancat shall never admit that chapstick is actually really fun to bat around!!

The good news is that our Mommy is finally feeling better! We made sure she stayed in bed most of the weekend and we made Daddy cook her good meals and bring her good drinks to help her to feel better. We want to thank everyone for their get well wishes for our Mommy as well as their birthday wishes. Mommy says that yes, being sick on your birthday is no fun but that spending the entire weekend in bed with us kitties and Samwise (and Beaux even though we made sure he didn't put another hole in Samwise's head) was quite nice. She also says that after today hopefully her day hunting will be caught up enough to help us visit our friends. She didn't go day hunting but two days last week so she has lots of hunting to get done. Sigh. We wish she would just stay home with us all the time!!

Woofie Update

First of all, we want to thank everyone who sent healing purrs and purrayers to our Woofies, Samwise and Beaux, this weekend. Thankfully they seem to be feeling a lot better. No more vomitting or pooping in the house (they were both quite embrassed about that). They are still on the sick woofie food (Aunt Susan called and came by to check on them yesterday and says to keep them on the bland food until tonight and then try their normal food again) and they both have a bit less energy than usual but we think they are certaintly on the mend! Again, thanks everyone! Your kind purrs and thoughts meant a lot. Samwise couldn't believe that so many kitties cared about him and Beaux was excited to see all off your responses too! Thank you all, our dear friends!!
